[Main ingredients] Ceftiofur sodium

[Shape and properties] This product is a white to sallow powder.

[Pharmacological actions] This product is semisynthetic broad-spectrum antibiotic, which is the third generation cephalosporins, including β-lactam ring. It has a sensitive broad spectrum bactericidal effect on gram-positive bacteria and negative bacteria(including producing β-lactamase bacteria). The major sensitive bacteria include pasteurella multocida, hemolytic pasteurella, actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, salmonella, E. coli, streptococcus, staphylococcus and so on.certain pseudomonas aeruginosa, enterococci will be resist to this product. This product have a strong antibacterial activity than ampicillin, stronger activity against streptococcus than quinolones. Clinically, veterinary may use it in the treatment of acute respiratory infections of cattle(such as bronchial pneumonia caused by pasteurella multocida), bovine mastitis, actinobacillus suis pleural pneumonia. Intramuscular and subcutaneous injection of the chemicals will be absorbed quickly. In vivo, it is distributed widely in body with a high plasma and tissue drug concentration which may maintain a long time.

[Indications] Mainly for treatment of animal respiratory system, digestive system, genitourinary system and systemic diseases.

[Usage and dosage] Intramuscular or intravenous injection of a 1kg body weight every horse, cow 10-15mg; pigs, sheep 30-50mg; (that is, each injection of horse, cattle 400kg, pigs, sheep 150kg), once a day, a 2-3 days continnuously.

[Precautions]

1. Before clinical use, it should be diluted in water for injection.

2. There are synergistic effect combined with aminoglycosides.
